Rejecting Perfection

Because I'm human and I make mistakes, so I created this set. It's also a poem response set.

Here is my set for @ellyothvhoar's poem:

Gathering my loss
leaving places before I even entered them
missing people I never met

caught between the blur of the past
and the fog of the future

time stands still inside and rushes outside

I'm just a board others pin their problems on
a node of countless meeting and diverging lifelines
a straw imprisoned among needles

lies and truth inseperable, reflecting each other

falling through all grates,
fitting none of the moulds,
only a collection of disjointed pieces

whose life is this?
I don't feel any relation to myself

so, am I just the opposite of everything I seem to be and what others see in me?

am I actor or just spectator?
maybe a wishful illusion in your mind?

My response: Rejecting Perfection poem

I know what it's like,
I understand.
It's hard to be the painting
Of someone else's hand.

They paint me so pretty,
So angelic, like perfection.
But am I really?
You can laugh at that question.

May I paint you a picture?
So real, so true.
You know that I have feelings,
Just like you.

I get mad, I get sad,
And I cry sometimes too.
Sure I am nice,
But that has a lot to do with you.

See, I'm trapped in the bubble --
Full of love which is great.
But this bubble quickly bursts,
At the slightest sign of hate.

They tell me to smile,
Don't frown or be down.
But it's really hard
To wear such a crown.

So paint me pretty and angelic
If you want to.
But remember that I'm human,
Just like you.

Don't Tell Me That I'm Dreaming

Because this is my dream world, so I created this set. It's also a poem response set.

@egbooth Original Poem

I'm lost inside a silent daydream
Of quite whispers offering me a crown
Calling me queen
I'm lost inside it's sound
Can I ever wake
Escape from my fluffy clouds?
I'm in a paralyzed state
I'm never getting down...
I only want to get back into my dream
To see my glowing kingdom gleam
I'm in love with the bliss
My dreams blessing me with a snickering kiss
I want to stay forever
Feeling comfortably numb
I will do whatever
To get into its claws
I take a bit more than usual, closing my heavy eyes
I feel my heart quicken
Before it begins to die
Now do I realize as my heart begins to stop
I need to be alive
If I want to wake up
In my silent daydream.

My Response:

Don't tell me that I'm dreaming
Because I want this to be true...
I'm scared of waking up
After all that I've been through...

So I Lie...

Because I have bad days, so I created this set. It's also a poem response set.
Okay so what your going to do is read the poem and interpret it in your own way. It can be any kind of set, and art one, fashion, beauty or home. Put it under #Poetryintoart and tag us please. I will be making my set for this hashtag when were all done so we can see how everyone thought of it differently.

@alphaboots Original Poem:

I'm tired of it all.
I'm tired of crying.
I'm tired of pity.
I'm tired of being quiet.
I'm tired of not being good enough.
I'm tired of being insecure.
I'm tired of constant drama.
I'm tired of being ashamed.
I'm tired of wanting love.
I'm tired of the world judging me.
I'm tired of telling myself it'll get better.
I'm tired of wanting to be a phoenix.
I'm tired of losing sleep.
I'm tired of the nightmares.
I'm tired of feeling alone.
I'm tired...
But I'm wide awake.

My interpretation and response:

So I lie...

I put on a mask and I keep it all in.
I put a smile on my face as I pretend.
All you can see is the light in my eyes--
You can't see the tears that I hide.
It's okay, it's not all in vain--
I'm awake and perhaps insane.
